The author would focus on these things because they are important and everyone evict understand them. The story was merely a vessel by which these universal truths could be conveyed.



According to Faulkner, the writers of today no longer understand this concept and no longer focus on these things. Instead, they focus on things that are not important and tally to Faulkner, not worth writing about. Faulkner is trying to say that the writer today no longer focus on things that can be understood by all. Everyone can understand love, compassion, sacrifice, and so on because we experience these things every day.
Faulkner uses universal bones, to describe the emotions and feelings that every world being has experienced.
